Eagle camera intensity difference in one quadrant

Issue

Eagle camera intensity is different in one quadrant, compared to other three quadrants.

Environment

Tecnai Spirit

Resolution

These are possible resolutions for the issue:

  • Perform gain reference calibration.

Cause

These are possible causes for the issue:

  • Most likely gain offset change in Eagle camera electronics.

Details

After performing gain reference calibration, all four quadrants of the camera respond equally again.

If the problem re-occurs, first follow troubleshooting flow diagram in 4022 190 53708 (Troubleshooting diagram for Eagle quadrant problem).

In the end, if the problem cannot be solved by re-calibrating, it is possible that there is a defect on the analog board in the camera (the analog board has separate electronics for each of the quadrants). In that case, the boards should be replaced. Note: the boards (analog board, digital board and clock driver board) are linked as a set, so the boards need to be replaced together.
