ServiceMapTool with OMNICxi v2.5 Unable to Write High Powered Laser Information to EEPROM

Issue

If a Field Service Engineer replaces a motor control board on a DXR3xi instrument, the NDF parameters for high powered lasers (532 and 633 nm) are not stored correctly.

Environment

OMNICxi v2.5 HF3

DXR3xi

Resolution

EEPROM for the motor control board must be written from OFDR software instead of from the ServiceMapTool.  Currently the FSE must request a pre-programmed board from the factory.

NOTE:  This problem has been corrected in OMNICxi v2.5 HF5 software.  This version can now properly write the high powered laser information to the EEPROM using the service map tool installed with that version of software.

Analysis

When a new MCB comes from the factory and is installed in a DXR3xi, the normal process is to restore the EEPROM data from the dxreeprom.dat file.  If the system has a 532 nm high powered or 633 nm high powered laser, the NDF parameter information will not write to the board.  It will appear that the values have been written, but upon restart of OMNICxi, those parameter fields will still be blank.

Cause

In the ServiceMapTool.exe bundled with OMNICxi v2.5 HF3 or earlier, the utility doesn't correctly write the NDF parameters for the 532 nm High Powered and 633 nm High Powered lasers to the EEPROM.
