Checking the humidity indicator

The humidity indicator changes color when the humidity level inside your instrument exceeds 60% RH. This can occur only when ambient humidity outside the instrument is above 60% RH. The indicator provides no information on the lifespan of the desiccant and is provided as a means to monitor internal conditions when the instrument is stored without power. If the indicator turns pink or white, you must replace the desiccant and store the instrument  in a lower humidity environment.

To monitor humidity inside your instrument, use the System Status table in OMNIC Paradigm software. To reach the table, simply click the instrument name in the upper right corner of the screen.

We recommend that the desiccant be replaced when OMNIC Paradigm software reports humidity levels above 40% RH. The humidity indicator should also be changed if it has turned white.

Check the humidity indicator every time you use your instrument. If use the instrument infrequently, make sure you check the indicator at least once a month. We recommend that you maintain seal and desiccation and/or purge your instrument at all times. Equipment damage due to failure to maintain seal and desiccation and/or purge is not covered under the warranty. If you have questions about this requirement, please contact us.
