OMNIC Advanced Mapping Options Not Showing

Issue

When the advanced mapping options check box is selected on the Experiment Setup - Mapping tab, the additional boxes are not displayed

Resolution

Window Styles 2 and 4 in OMNIC do not allow for the advanced mapping boxes to be displayed.  To change the Window Style:

1. Click on the Edit menu and Options command
2. Select the View tab
3. Click the Window Style button to change the Window style.
4. Click Ok
5. Check if Advanced Mapping Options now display.
6. To make the change permanent, click the File menu and Save Configuration As to save the configuration file.

Analysis

On the Mapping tab of the Experiment setup tab, there is a check box for displaying extra boxes to line or area maps.  Note that there no additional boxes for point maps.

When the Advanced mapping options box is checked, additional boxes for "Start Position" and "End Position" should be displayed under the Dimension section at the top of the window.

There are 5 possible Window Styles available in the OMNIC software.  Styles 1, 3, and 5 allow for the Advanced Mapping Options to be displayed, while styles 2 and 4 do not.  The images below show the 5 different window styles available in OMNIC.
