OMNIC Paradigm Library Manager Showing Duplicates of Every Library
This article explains why OMNIC Paradigm’s Library Manager may display duplicate libraries and how to fix it. It covers two main causes—multiple library folders with duplicate files and a duplicated index—and provides steps to resolve.
Issue
In OMNIC Paradigm software, the Library Manager is showing two or more of every library
Environment
OMNIC Paradigm
Resolution
One possible cause is that more than one directory is designated for the library location, and there are the same library files in both folders.
- In OMNIC Paradigm click Identify - Search Setup.
- Select the Library Locations tab.
- If more than one folder is listed, check both folders for duplicate files and remove duplicates from one location or only use one folder.
The other common cause is that Paradigm has built an index with duplicate entries.
- Close the OMNIC Paradigm software.
- Navigate to the folder C:\ProgramData\Thermo Scientific\Paradigm (Note: C:\ProgramData is a hidden folder either show hidden items in File Explorer or click on the Windows Start menu and type in %programdata% and press the Enter key).
- Delete the LibraryConfig.json file.
- Either restart the computer or go to the Services App and restart the Thermo Scientific Library Engine Service.
- Verify the LibraryConfig.json file has been recreated.
- Open OMNIC Paradigm and check that duplicate libraries are no longer showing up.
