Perform a background measurement

The Affirma Horizontal Transmission Lubricant Analysis System requires a background spectrum updated every 2 hours. To perform a background measurement, install the Pearl HTRN accessory, open the sample tray, and in OMNIC Paradigm software Operator mode, select the Background HTRN workflow and follow the instructions.

The system requires a background spectrum for making measurements with the Affirma Horizontal Transmission Lubricant Analysis System. The background should be updated after 2 hours of continuous use.

To perform a background measurement

Install the Pearl HTRN accessory in the spectrometer sample compartment.
Open the sample tray.
In OMNIC Paradigm software Operator mode, select the HTRN Setup category and then select the Background HTRN workflow.
Follow the instructions in the workflow to complete the background measurement.

When the background measurement is completed, follow the instructions in the next section to run the calibration check.
