Omnic Specta closes right after opening or Unhandled Exception error
When launching Omnic Specta, it may close or an Unhandled Exception error may occur due to an empty MyFavorites.XML file. To resolve this, replace the file with the contents of the provided ZIP file and overwrite the existing file in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Applications Data\Thermo\OmnicSpecta or C:\ProgramData\Thermo\OmnicSpecta"

Resolution
Specta may close or generate and unhandled exception error relating to MyFavorites.XML. Attached is an image of an error report that occurs when Specta was launched. The root cause is traced to "C:\ProgramData\Thermo\OmnicSpecta\MyFavorites.XML or C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Applications Data\Thermo\OmnicSpecta\MyFavorites.XML " file being empty.
The fix is to replace the file with the contents of the attached ZIP file and copy it to the same location, overwriting the existing file. The .doc file is the error, the .zip file is the fix.
