Antaris not scanning

Issue

The system is unable to complete a collection scan or complete an alignment

Resolution

A useful diagnostic step is to generate an Instrument Status report. In RESULT Operation, click the Maintenance pull down – Instrument Status. Click the “Select All” box, and click “OK.

Take a look at the table of voltages, if the Laser X, Y and R values are near zero, the instrument is not scanning.

The system may not be scanning for a few reasons, one is that the optical, mechanical conditions within the instrument have drifted to a point where the electronics are unable to control the motion of moving mirror in the interferometer. If that is the case, an alignment of the system should enable the system to scan again.
