Failed to Setup Optics, AA iCE 3000 Series
The issue of failing to set up optics on Antimony affected the iCE 3300, 3400, and 3500 systems. The resolution involved performing a monochromator calibration using a Ca/Mg lamp. Analysis revealed that while Arsenic and Lead could be set up using a 0.5mm bandpass, the Antimony method, which used a 0.2mm bandpass, failed. The cause was identified as a misalignment of the 0.2mm slit, which was corrected through the calibration process.
Issue
Failed to Setup Optics on Antimony
Environment
- iCE 3300
- iCE 3400
- iCE 3500
Resolution
Performed monochromator calibration using Ca/Mg lamp
Analysis
As and Pb could setup just fine but were using 0.5mm bandpass whereas Sb method was using 0.2mm bandpass.
Cause
0.2mm slit must have been off which alignment corrected
