iCAP Autopeak Failure
Issue
- Poor ignition and unexpected plasma going out
- iCAP service RF ignition failure, RF fails to remain lit
Environment
- iCAP 6000 Series
- iTEVA
Resolution
A 5% solution of Glysantin anti-corrosion additive (430122821331) in water (distilled or deionized). This is approximately 125 cm3 in the 2.5 L capacity for a typical chiller.
Analysis
A number of RF power supply replacements have been found to be unnecessary due to incorrect cooling fluids.
Cause
Incorrect conductivity in the cooling water will result in an inability of the matching network to match the plasma impedance. This will result in lack of plasma control, plasma instability, plasma going out and failing to light.
