If necessary, decrease the chiller temperature. Chiller temperature can be set to 5 degrees C below ambient temperature. Don't exceed this temperature in order to avoid condensation of the air humidity at the cold water lines inside the instrument. As a result, water can drop inside instrument and cause issues.
Analysis
Detector temperature interlock is set at -44 degrees C. As a test you can set the chiller lower than 5 degrees C below ambient temperature and see if CID is able to maintain the set temperature. If it is, this would indicate a bad/aged peltier.
To give an idea on how chiller can impact the cooling of detector, experienced an issue where temperature was hovierng between -43.7 to -44.1. Set chiller temperature to 17 degrees C and detector temperature was now at ~-45.2.
