LED and Fuse Diagnostic Info
Issue
LED's on side panel of instrument are not indicating a normal status - LED's 1 & 8 flashing and LED's 3-7 solidly lit. This could manifest itself in No communication with the instrument in iTEVA or Qtegra software.
Environment
- iCAP 6000 Series
- iCAP 7000 Series
Resolution
If one or more of LED's 3-7 are not lit indicating a low voltage supply is out, consider checking and potentially replacing the fuse before the instrument control board.
P/N 242208601136 Fuse 6.3A (20x5mm), antisurge fuse, 250Vac
P/N 242208601021 Fuse 1A (20x5mm), antisurge fuse, 250Vac
The I/O Board Fuse ratings are now:
FS600 - 6.3A = 15.28vac (Tank Heater)
FS300 - 1A = 16.96vac (+/-15v)
FS301 - 1A = 16.96vac (+/-15v)
FS200 - 6.3A = 12.72vac (TE Cooler, +5v, +12v and +24v)
To replace fuse(s):
1. Remove the left cover by removing the four 3mm fixing screws and then sliding the cover to the left
2. Locate the fuse and replace it
Below is a picture zoomed in on the instrument control board to show the fuses.
Note: this image is upside down in respect ot how the fuses are actually laid out on the board in order to display the name of the fuses correctly
Here is a picture of where the fuses are located in respect to the Instrument Control board at large (see red box). Note, FS200 is orientated horizontally at the very bottom of the board.
Cause
If one of the low voltages is out, it is possible that the fuse relevant to that voltage is blown and the board itself is ok
