Manually Light Plasma-ICAP PRO
Issue
For plasma diagnostic purposes, it is sometimes necessary to manually light the plasma on the ICAP PRO via the Qtegra Service Application.
Environment
ICAP PRO
EAR99
Resolution
- With Service App open and connected to instrument, click on the Hardware Control tab

- Select PlasmaControl

- Set RF Power Supply Voltage in V to 35. Note the readback will not change, this is just the set point for now

- Select GasFlowControl

- Set Nebulizer Gas Flow to 0.00, Auxillary Gas Flow to 0.50, and Coolant Gas Flow to 12.00

- Select InstrumentControl

- Ensure that the water flow is higher than 2 l/min. RF Generator Cooling and Main Water Valve should be toggled on

- Toggle RF Power Supply Enable; check to make sure the readback matches the setpoint of 35 V

- Toggle RF Generator Enable

- Toggle RF Generator Ignite; note after the plasma lights this will toggle back off

- Check to see if plasma has lit and that the read-backs for RF Power Supply Voltage and Current are normal, and the plasma is stable

- To extinguish the plasma, toggle RF Power Supply Enable to OFF position.
