Optics Temperature Not Reading Back at Setpoint of 38 degrees C

Issue

Optics Temperature is Not Reading Back at Setpoint of 38 degrees C

Environment

iCAP 6000 Series

iCAP 7000 Series

Resolution

1) Measure the resistance of the thermocouple and heater blanket itself to see if they are reading back correctly

a) The resistance of the thermocouple (PRT Sensor) can be measured by removing  connector SK404 from the Control board and measuring across this connector in ohms. It should read ~109 ohms at room temperature (24 degree C) and ~115-116 ohms at 38 degrees C

b) The resistance of the heater blanket can be measured by removing connector Sk602 from theControl board and measuring across this connector in ohms. It should read 7 ohms.

Note: To find out more info on the connections to the I/O board, consult this schematic: Issue F - iCAP System Interconnections

If you suspect the Thermocouple (PRT sensor) is bad, a new one can be ordered via P/N 430116620959 (Heater Jacket) which also includes the Heater blanket too. Here a procedure to replace the Thermocouple: Polychromator PRT Sensor Replacement

2) If the thermocouple and heater blanket check out, then its most likley and issue with the circuit driving the heater blanket and therefore the Control PCB (P/N 842315550491) needs to be replaced.
