Issue

If excessive carryover is noticed by analyzing a high concentration standard and then analyzing a blank, and the measured concentration of the blank is greater than twice the method detection limit or close to the report limit.

Resolution

Replace the autosampler probe.  A modified rinse using an addition of 9 uM of Potassium Bromate can help as well.

Cause

The autosampler probe can break down over time and become porous trapping elements that have a tendency to particulate out of solution.
