iCAP PRO RF Coil Replacement

Issue

RF Coil needs to be replaced due to damage or other causes.

Environment

  • iCAP PRO (All models)

Resolution

Replacing the RF Coil BRE0019591

  1. Make sure the chiller is off
  2. Open the torch box door
  3. If the instrument is a duo, remove the axial cone
  4. Remove the inner torch box, by removing the 3 screws, 2.5mm allen screws
  5. Remove the radial cone, by twisting counter clockwise

     
  6. Locate the 3mm allen screws that hold on the load coil on the right side in the teflon block. *Place a paper towel or paper over the gap in order to not lose any screws or tools.
  7. Unscrew until the RF coil is able to be wiggled free from the teflon block. (NOTE: The screws will come all the way out if not careful.)
  8. Remove coil from torch box.
  9. Replace new coil in the teflon block. The connections are keyed so it fits only one direction. Hold coil tight against teflon block to seat o-rings as you tighten the screws.
  10. Replace radial cone
  11. Replace the inner torch box
  12. Replace the axial cone if applicable
  13. Replace sample introduction and carry on.
