Pressure Transducer Replacement

Issue

How to replace the pressure transducer

Environment

  • ThermoFlex 900
  • ThermoFlex 1400
  • ThermoFlex 2500

Resolution

1) Remove the Side Panels using following steps or video linked here as a guide: How to Remove the Cover on a ThermoFlex 900 / 1400 / 2500 Chiller. The pressure transducer will be accessible from the right side of the chiller.
    a) Use a Philips head screwdriver to remove the eleven #6-32 x 1/4" screws indicated in the illustrations below.

    b) Slide the right panel back approximately one inch, then lift slightly from the rear to disengage the panel's two tabs from their slots.
    c) Then remove the left side

2) Remove the electrical connector attached to the transducer. Pry up in the latching tab and pull up to remove electrical connector. This will have some resistance as the connector has a water proof seal. Once removed, you will have access to the pressure transducer.

3) Using two wrenches hold the copper tubing connection and place the second wrench on the transducer and rotate counter clock wise to remove (see example below). Once removed, screw the new transducer onto the fitting turning clockwise to tighten, using the two wrench method to prevent the tubing from bending.
