Sending Log Files to Thermo Fisher for Analysis

Issue

The general log file tracks all communication between the Qtegra services and can provide helpful insights when issues such as communication disruptions (i.e. LabBook halts analysis) are encountered

Environment

  • iCAP 7000 Series
  • iCAP PRO Series
  • iCAP Qnova Series

Resolution

The Log file can be retrieved as follows:

1) Navigate to: Path:          C:\ProgramData\Thermo\Qtegra\LogFiles

2) Sort the contents of the LogFiles directory with the newest files at top of list by clicking on the "Date Modfied" column

3) Locate the most recent log file of the type:

Example File Name:  log-20140922-074323638.log  (format:  log-yyyymmdd-nnnnnnnnn.log)

Date & Time inside file: 2014-09-22T09:53:30.8412240-05:00|

                                       (Date)             (Time)

 

Note: If there is no general log file for the day in which the event occurred, please copy the general log file directly preceding the event in chronological order.

4) Also if there are any log files of the type: [Service Name (i.e.ControlManager)]Service.exe-yyyymmdd-nnnnnnnnn.log, please send them as well.

Once the log files have been retrieved, they can be attached to an email and sent to the Thermo Fisher representative helping with the diagnosis of the issue.
