Thermo Fisher Scientific released AS-AP firmware version 1.9.1 to address issues with needle height in version 1.9.0, which caused the needle to touch the sample tray. The new firmware, applicable from S/N 2405305022 onward, increases the needle height by 3.0 mm during alignment to prevent damage. Upgrading to firmware 1.9.1 ensures safer needle positioning.

Description: 

The previous firmware 1.9.0 was designed to simplify the alignment process. It eliminated the need for the operator to adjust the height of the needle frequently and instead utilized a fixed height for the needle related to the sample tray. Through increased use, it was found that the needle height was too low and in some instances it would touch the tray, creating the potential for damage to the needle.

A new version of AS-AP firmware (version 1.9.1) has been released to address this issue and is included with all AS-AP instruments from serial number 2405305022 onward. Compared to the 1.9.0 firmware, the initial height of the 1.9.1 and Alignment of positions 1 and 2 has been increased by 3.0 mm when aligning the following:

·        Move to Align 1

·        Move to Align 2
