Resolution

ThermoFisher ICSP business unit(Dionex as the previous name) introduced three IC test boxes to facilitate the Suppressor/EGC/CRTC function validation/qualifications when the new products were launched.

In  April 2003,Dionex introduced IC Validation/Test Box(P/N: 060615) in PSB_SV387R.

In December 2011, ICSP introduced IC Qualification Test Box(P/N: 072005) in PSB-IC-SYS-1009. To supprot capillary EGC.

In April 2016, ICSP introduced IC Qualification Text BOX II(P/N 22000-60001) in PSB-IC-SYS-1009R. To support 1-wire eletrolytical devices, including 4-pin CRTC.

Analysis

All IC Test Box devices support 3-Pin CR-TC devices.

Only IC Qualification Test Box II supports 4-Pin CR-TC devices.

Both IC Qualification Test Box and IC Qualification Test Box II support EG capillary feature qualifications.

Cause

Suppressor Current Qualification measures the applied current for suppressors directly.

EGC Concentrations are produced the certain levels of DI water electrolysis, thus applying certain currents for DI water electrolysis.

CR-TC current is qualified by applying the 24VDC voltage to the internal test loads:

  • In IC Validation/Test box and IC Qualification Test Box, the internal CR-TC test load is a 250 Ohms resistor. The measured current would be 24 V÷250Ω=96mA.
  • In IC Qualification Test Box II, the internal CR-TC test load(for both 3-pin & 4 pin CR-TC ports in IC) is a 1300 Ohms resistor. The measured current would be 24V÷1300Ω=18.46mA.
