Genpure Preventive Maintenance Part Numbers and Recommended Replacement Frequency
The GenPure Ultrapure Water System requires regular maintenance to ensure high-quality water output and system reliability. This article covers part numbers for preventive maintenance including the ultrapure cartridge, sterile 0.2 micron filter, ultrafiltration membrane, and UV-lamp and the recommended replacement intervals. Cleaning and disinfection should be conducted at least annually.
Genpure Preventive Maintenance Intervals
Issue:
Determining the appropriate preventive maintenance intervals for the Thermo Scientific Barnstead GenPure Ultrapure Water System to ensure optimal performance and determining the correct part numbers for PM components.
Environment:
- Product: Thermo Scientific Barnstead GenPure Ultrapure Water Systems
- Component Part Numbers (not all systems feature UV and UF. Check your specific model):
- Ultrapure Cartridge (Part Number 09.2005)
- Sterile 0.2 Micron Filter (Part Number 09.1003)
- UF Ultrafiltration Membrane (Part Number 50133980)
- UV-Lamp (Part Number 09.2002)
Resolution:
-
Ultrapure Cartridge:
- Replace up to every 12 months or when the ultrapure water limiting value is exceeded, whichever is shorter.
- Longer usage can result in bacterial growth on the resin.
-
Sterile 0.2 Micron Filter:
- Replace up to every 12 months or when the flow rate becomes noticeably slower.
-
Ultrafiltration Membrane:
- Replace up to every 24 months or if there is endotoxin breakthrough in product water or when the water flow rate becomes markedly slower.
-
UV-Lamp:
- Replace up to every 24 months or unless the system indicates the lamp needs to be replaced.
-
General Maintenance:
- Cleaning and disinfection should be performed at least once yearly, or when the ultrapure cartridge is replaced, or when bacteria is present in the product water.
- Regular servicing of the system ensures that the quality of water is maintained.
- It is recommended to have a service contract with a factory-authorized service company to ensure proper maintenance.
- The life of consumable materials is directly dependent on the quality of the feed water and the amount of water used daily.
