OMNICxi Depth Profiling Issue and Workaround

Issue

When collecting a depth profile in OMNICxi, if you explore the slices immediately after acquisition and then save the data, you may encounter issues when reopening the file and attempting to explore the slices again.

After reopening the file and selecting the map region containing the depth profile slices, one or more of the following behaviors may occur:

  • The slice navigation slider on the right side of the UI does not function correctly.
    • Moving the slider manually does not update the displayed slice number or the map slice.
    • Automatic slice playback also fails to update the map or slice indicator.
  • Selecting a point within the map displays a spectrum; however, moving the slice slider does not update the spectrum for subsequent slices.
  • Right-clicking on the map and selecting “Extract spectra from all frames of a region” does not extract additional spectra as expected.
  • Changing the slice from the Region Queue does not update the rest of the user interface to reflect the selected slice.

Environment

OMNICxi software

Resolution

  1. Collect the depth profile.
  2. Save the data immediately without exploring the slices.
  3. Close OMNICxi.
  4. Restart OMNICxi and reopen the saved file.

After reopening, slice exploration and UI updates will function correctly, with the exception of the Region Queue slice-update behavior, which may still not update the rest of the UI.
