As a Everglo MIR source ages, the output reduces.

Analysis

This reduction is due to two factors, the impedance in the element increases allowing less current throught the element along with the hot spot of the element shifts from the center to the edge.

Energy reduction due to the shift in the hot spot of the element will be amplified when the aperture is reduced in size.
