Error 16 - Spectrometer Fatal Error

Environment

  • iCE 3300
  • Solaar

Resolution

1. Download firmware can be done using Solaar software disc and selecting Download System Software. The latest spectrometer firmware version is “SPECM130.MOT”

2. When downloading firmware, select the correct COM port. This can be done by going to Device Manager and looking under Ports for "UART" connection. There will be two listed. Try the first one listed first and if that doesn't work try the second one

3. Configure instrument

a. Using a copy of the Solaar software navigate to this folder: Solaar 11.11\solaarm\solaars

b. Execute Support.exe app (Password is: "Cambridge")

c. Click File => Set Configuration

d. Select the correct COM port and click Next

e.Input S/N and tick checkboxes as shown in snippet to follow:

f. Click Finish and follow prompts

 

4. Perform Monochromator calibration  by going to Customer Diagnostics in OQTests application and selecting Calibrate. You will need a Ca/Mg lamp placed in position 6 to do this.
