Setting the Calibration Curve to Use the Blank as Zero

This article provides steps to set the calibration curve to use the blank as zero in Qtegra software. It includes accessing method parameters, setting quantification parameters, configuring the forcing column, and performing measurements.

Issue:

When performing calibration using Qtegra software, the blank reading does not zero out on the calibration curve. This discrepancy affects the accuracy of subsequent measurements and data analysis.

Environment:

  • Product: Qtegra

Resolution:

  1. Create a Lab Book:
    • Open Qtegra software and create a new lab book for the calibration process.
  2. Access Method Parameters:
    • Navigate to the method parameters within the lab book.
  3. Set Quantification Parameters:
    • Go to the "Quantification" section within the method parameters.
  4. Configure Forcing Column:
    • In the "Quantification" section, locate the column labeled "Forcing."
    • Set the "Forcing" column to "Blank" to ensure that the blank solution is used as the zero on the calibration curve.
  5. Perform Measurements:
    • Proceed with the measurements, ensuring that the blank remains zeroed out on the calibration curve.
