Background: 

Multiple reports have been received of Integrion HPIC systems experiencing communication disconnects. There have been multiple issues identified that can create this situation related to PC settings and physical configuration. However, for several units no resolution was found to address the communication problem.

An investigation into the root cause has been underway for several years with contributions from software, firmware, electrical, and mechanical engineering. After significant analysis and investigation, we have been unable to isolate a root cause. Recognizing the impact to our customers, a fix that automatically re-establishes communication has been implemented. This fix will be available in the upcoming releases of Chromeleon 7.3.2 MUc and 7.2.10 MUi software.  Please note Chromeleon 7.2.10 MUi is not released yet.

This PSB supersedes PSB 1105.

Recommendations:

It is recommended to install Chromeleon 7.3.2 MUc for Customers that are experiencing disconnects. 

For Customers experiencing disconnects on Chromeleon version 7.2.10, there is a beta test fix currently available for 7.2.10 MUg. Please contact the IC/SP PSE group for access.
