PSB-ICSP-1153-Rev A-Integrion Disconnect CM 7-2-10 MUi

Thermo Fisher Scientific has issued a bulletin (PSB-ICSP-1153) addressing communication disconnects in Integrion HPIC systems. Despite extensive investigation, no root cause was found. A fix to automatically re-establish communication is now available in Chromeleon 7.3.2 MUc and 7.2.10 MUi software. Customers experiencing disconnects should install Chromeleon 7.2.10 MUi. For issues with versions 7.3.0 or 7.3.1, contact the IC/SP PSE group. This bulletin supersedes PSB-ICSP-1105.

Background:

Multiple reports have been received of Integrion HPIC systems experiencing communication disconnects. There have been multiple issues identified that can create this situation related to PC settings and physical configuration. However, for several units no resolution was found to address the communication problem.

An investigation into the root cause has been underway for several years with contributions from software, firmware, electrical, and mechanical engineering. After significant analysis and investigation, we have been unable to isolate a root cause. Recognizing the impact to our customers, a fix that automatically re-establishes communication has been implemented. This fix is now available in the releases of Chromeleon 7.3.2 MUc and 7.2.10 MUi software.

This PSB supersedes PSB-ICSP-1105_-_Rev_A_-_Integrion_Communication_Disconnects.

Recommendations:

It is recommended to install Chromeleon 7.2.10 MUi for customers that are experiencing disconnects.

For customers experiencing disconnects on Chromeleon versions 7.3.0 or 7.3.1, please contact the IC/SP PSE group.
