AS-DV not delivering sample or Interrupting run
Issue
AS-DV not delivering sample or Interrupting run, AS-DV Autosamplers
Abort error: Needle Jammed.
Warning error: The motor speed is reduced to ¼ of the previous one because of excessive load.
Liquid on top of vial caps
Environment
AS-DV Delivering/loading sample to sample loop
Resolution
1. Check Audit trail for errors.
a. Warning The motor speed is reduced to ¼ of the previous one because of excessive load.
b. Abort Needle is jammed.
Quite often, 80-90%, the sample line ferrule at the injection valve has cold flowed tighter and pinched off or restricted the flow to the injection vavle. Inspect to see if the tubing is crimped under the ferrule. quick fix is to cut off the old ferrule and put on a new ferrule and then test the delivery of a vial. you shoud not hear the "ratcheting" as the needle decends and build pressure. If this does not work do the following.
The motor speed is reduced to ¼ of the previous one because of excessive load. Warning page 68
This error occurs when the needle is jammed or there is excessive backpressure. The motor speed is reduced and the AS-DV attempts to continue delivery. If the problem persists, the run is stopped, and the “Needle is jammed” error message is displayed. For troubleshooting, refer to the “Needle is jammed” section below.
Needle is jammed. Abort
This error occurs when the needle is jammed or there is excessive backpressure. To troubleshoot:
1. Press the Carousel Release button to release the carousel and raise the needle. If the needle does not raise automatically, manually raise the needle (see Section 4.5).
2. Check for blockages.
3. If the needle appears bent, replace the needle (see Section 4.13).
4. Check for excessive backpressure (see Section 6.7).
5. If the problem persists, contact Dionex Technical Support (ICTS) at ICTS@dionex.com for assistance.
