How to correctly seat ferrule onto IC tubing before fitting to avoid dead volume.

Resolution

When connecting tubing to a port, make sure the 10-32 ferrule and fitting bolt are at least 2 mm (0.1 in) from the end of the tubing before you insert the tubing into the port. Do not position the ferrule and fitting bolt flush with the end of the tubing.
