IC pump degasser malfunction

Resolution

One of the signs of degasser malfunction is the noise level in the baseline and the irregularity in the baseline drift.

  1. First we need to make sure if the degasser pump is on or off, from the pump command in the Chromeleon software, a message will be in the audit trail about the degasser issue.
  2. This will need the attention of a service engineer to open the pump module and check the tubing connection, the chambers and the degasser pump.

The degasser might be not working any more and need to be replace or the degasser chambers and tubing connection correctly. 

Cause

  • The continuous running of the degasser pump due to not using all of the eluent lines with DI water
  • Leak in the degasser chambers or lines.
