VWD-IC Critical Module Failures

Issue

IC VWD Critical Module Failures, as well as, ADC internal test failure 

Environment

Ion Chromatography

Resolution

Step 1:  Assess what errors are showing in Chromeleon audit trail.  If “critical module failure”, then go to step 2.  If “ADC internal test failure”, then go to step 4. 

Step 2:  If “critical module failure” error, then replace mainboard, transfer old jumpers from old mainboard to new mainboard, and run F Test per ICS Series VWD Service Manual.

Step 3:  If “critical module failure” error persists, then replace optics bench (See PSB-IC-SYS-1025). 

Step 4:  If “ADC internal test failure” error appears, then try the following actions in this order.  1) Turn off module   2) Remove Power cable  3) Remove USB cable   4) Wait 5 minutes   5) Reconnect power and USB cables and turn on. 

Step 5:  If “ADC internal test failure” error persists, then replace optics bench (See PSB-IC-SYS-1025). 

Step 6:  If none of the above are resolved or further issues are encountered, then please contact IC/SP PSE (icsp.productsupport@thermofisher.com) for options such as an RMA repair or warranty replacement/exchange.
