Image Requirements
Images should:
- Clearly identify the part
- Be high quality and readable
- Use a consistent naming convention
Recommended Image Naming Convention
It is recommended that image filenames contain:
- Part Number
- Part Description
EXAMPLE:
074562_Pump_Seal_Assembly.jpg
Using a consistent naming structure simplifies image matching and spreadsheet population.
Upload Images to the Knowledge Base
Images must be uploaded to the appropriate media repository location within the Knowledge Base.
- Locate the appropriate media repository for the product line
- Create or update the repository article
- Upload all part images
NOTE:
- Images may be uploaded individually
- Entire folders can be drag-and-dropped into the repository
Obtaining Image URLs
After image upload is complete, image URLs must be captured and entered into the Parts Explorer spreadsheet.
Option 1 — Extract URLs from Page HTML
- Open the media repository article
- Copy the page HTML/source
- Use GPT or another parsing method to extract image URLs
Option 2 — Copy Individual Image URLs
- Open the media repository article
- Right-click the image
- Select one of the following options:
- Copy image address
- Copy image URL
- Paste the URL into the spreadsheet: Column H — Image URL
- Column H contains the direct URL to the uploaded image stored in the Knowledge Base media repository.
- Each row should contain the image URL associated with the corresponding part number.
