Processing a spectrum in OMNIC Paradigm to calculate a Second Derivative is performed from the Advanced Spectral Math function.

Advanced Spectral Math is found under the Process menu in OMNIC Paradigm - Desktop view.

Steps to calculate a Second Derivative:

  1. Open a measurement from the dashboard in OMNIC Paradigm.
  2. Click on the Process Menu and the Advanced Spectral Math command
  3. At the top of the Advanced Spectral Math window, click the box for deriv(?) to select the function
  4. In the equation, click the item with the ? and then click the "Insert Into Equation" to add the spectrum to the equation.
  5. Click the drop down in the equation to select Second to perform a Second Derivative
  6. Click the Calculate button in the lower right corner to calculate the Second Derivative spectrum
  7. The next screen will show the result of the Advanced Spectral Math
  8. Click the Save button to save this math result spectrum to the measurements.
  9. If the resulting spectrum is not correct, click the Cancel button to return to the Advanced Spectral Math screen.
