How to Retrieve System Information

Issue

When working on software issues where it is suspected the computer is at fault, it is sometimes helpful to ascertain the specifications of the different components such as CPU and also the build/version of the Windows Operating System

Environment

All computers running Windows OS

Resolution

1. In the Windows search bar, type "System Information" and hit <Enter>

Note: As an alternative, click Windows icon (located in bottom left-hand corner of screen) > Windows Administrative Tools > System Information

2. Click File and then Export

3. Select a location to sava and a name for the file

Here is an example of the information this file contains:
