Syringe Possible Off-Gassing Above 115° C
Issue
Customers are reporting that the 2500 µL syringe off-gases when heated above 115°C.
Environment
Triplus RSH
Resolution
- Higher temperatures are not necessary to gain equilibrium of the compounds of interest in the vapor phase of headspace analysis.
- If you determine the contamination is from the syringe, run blank headspace vials and verify the contamination is from the syringe.
- If you must heat above 115°C, and you are seeing extraneous peaks, then you could use a SGE syringe P/N 008655, which is a direct replacement and has an upper temperature limit of 150°C.
