System stopping after first injection during the syringe purge: dirty glass syringe

Issue

After starting a Triplus RSH headspace method, the run stops after approximately two minutes.

Environment

Resolution

• The Triplus RSH Headspace sequence injects the first sample then stops.
• It was found that the Triplus RSH Headspace Syringe was dirty.
• The optical sensors used to purge the syringe after injection could not detect that the syringe plunger had moved thus causing a fault.
• The solution was to install a clean syringe.
