TCD ready status issue

Ensure the TCD in Gas Chromatography is ready by verifying GC methods and configuration. Check filament temperature and ensure the column is correctly installed without leaks. Review GC status for TCD messages and confirm all setpoints (pressure, flow, temperature) are reached. Measure carrier and reference flow with an external flowmeter after cooling the TCD and turning off the filament. Replace the module if filaments are damaged or contaminated.

  • Verify the GC methods and the configuration.
  • Check the filaments temperature
  • Check if column is correctly installed, check for leaks. 
  • Check the status displayed by the GC for any message from the TCD. 
  • Check on GC status if all setpoint are reached (pressure, flow , temperature).
  • Measure with an external flowmeter the carrier, and the reference flow.(Set OFF the TCD filament and cool down the TCD temperature before ). Filaments may be damaged or contaminated, so the module should be replaced.
