Deleting Library Spectra and Compressing Libraries with OMNIC DS

Issue

While anyone with Access permission to the Delete function within Library Manage in Thermo Security Administrator, can mark a spectra for deletion and it will be removed from further library searches. However, one cannot Compress the Search Library even with Access permission to the Compress function.

Resolution

To be able to compress a Search Library, one would need full control of the folder where the libraries are stored. This can be accomplished in one of two ways:

1)      Log on with the folder’s Service Account credentials to affect the needed library housekeeping.

2)      Users who will need to routinely perform this function should be given full control of the Lib subfolder within the Secure folder structure. (Full control is not needed for the entire Secure folder, just the Lib sub-folder)
